DoorDash 〰️
I worked with DoorDash’s design systems team to create some delightful in product animations and flows for each corner of DoorDash’s market: drivers, customers, and restaurants. While there was certain technical difficulty with implementation across different devices, we found several places to ship more dynamic visual demonstrations and engaging interactions. The result was an exciting collaboration that yielded some fun animation and happily bridged delight and function for important parts of the DoorDash experience.
The first set of animations targeted were walkthroughs for new Dashers (delivery drivers) as they complete different parts of the delivery process. These are in app animations that pop up as reminders to ensure that all parties have a positive delivery experience.
These animations appeared in context as bars above helpful hints and directions during the Dasher user experience.
One of my tasks was to bring to life various still illustrations as a means of demonstrating to stakeholders what was possible for the existing art set of DoorDash. These items were used in internal presentations and as test explorations. All of the animations I executed were delivered with pairing .json Lottie files for in browser and in app vector results.
One of my tasks was to create delightful moments for Dashpass users that highlighted their order savings. We spent a healthy portion of time exploring this concept so that it wouldn’t feel tacky but delightful - the goal was to ride the line between special, thoughtful, but understated.
Some of my favorite explorations were related to holiday campaigns. Most of the assets were already designed but I had a lot of fun designing more icons and pieces in the Delicia style in order to accomplish some of the fun options.
Other various sections included customer offers and gifting sections for users to introduce more delight upon app opening and gifting to friends.
